As a business we are not political. But some people don't seem to be aware of what it means to ban stoves in rural areas. It is

• damaging the credibility of those making the rules, when every ten years the goals and rules are changing 180 degrees (Renewable Heat Initiative = tax payers money)

• throwing invested money down the drain (biomass-boilers, stoves, flues, accreditations)

• ignoring that the power supply is in certain areas not always guaranteed

• sustainably managing forests are a necessity 

• ignoring the amount of jobs adding value and top-up retirement money which is involved (farmers, forest owners, harvesters, haulers, firewood / wood-fuel producers).

Due to requests from many customers we have decided to introduce loose firewoood logs, "Ready to Burn" qualified (MC<20%), in 0.2m3 barrow sacks!

For customers who don't have the space for cubic meter bags in the car or in their sheds. These are great for hard to access areas such as small alleys in tight shed doors.

We are offering them in Softwood and Hardwood cut at 250mm.

Our tidy yard with direct access from the main road is easy to find on the A97, 250m south from the Huntly roundabout direction to Rhynie. The roundles with the yellow letters

LFS (Linnorie Firewood Services) can easily be seen.

Ofgem is asking all the biomass suppliers (BSL) to get certified.
We decided that LFS offers BSL accredited firewood and also applied for the READY TO BURN label to make worth the additional administrative work, site inspections and laboratory tests.

LFS is certified for BSL and READY TO BURN for all the products  specified as seasoned with a moisture content lower than 20%.

We are happy to offer mostly high quality Larch this year for our promotion. Larch has a caloric value far closer to hardwood and is one of the best softwoods (highest calorific value) for burning.

Details and Terms & Conditions. The offer is 

1. valid for all orders placed before end of May 2024

2. for unseasoned SW loose or in bags (min. 2m3)

3. at your required length (from 250mm to 600mm length)

4. delivered or self-collected
    

The SW logs will be seasoned by end of late summer if they are stored appropriately.

Please note: to avoid legislation and regulations for heating systems with firewood becoming prohibitive: burning green logs is inefficient, is polluting the air and damaging the stove or boiler.

For self-collecting

• you may park your trailer in our secured yard to be filled

• times for parking and loading your trailer or a later pickup to be agreed in advance

• the trailer requires to be fit for purpose

• for efficiency and safety reasons we are unable to offer an unexpected drive-through service, because we may be processing a different product 

• the volume will be measured and invoiced by m3 loose logs (cubic metres)

• but please take the allowed loading weight into consideration!

• calculate weight per cubic metre with approximately 420kg/m3.
   

• SW 250mm or 300mm will be priced at
  £67.50per cubic metre self-collected (save £9*) or
  £83 per m3 delivered (save £9*).

• SW 400mm or 500mm will be priced at
  £60per cubic metre self-collected (save £11.50*) or
  £75.50 per m3 delivered (save £11.50*).

but it is in any case a soon as possible. 

LFS does not sell any timber as this would be very inefficient (loading, haulage, unloading at our yard and the same again afterwards at your premises!). LFS is always interested to buy timber of good quality. Ideally

• 3m length and  up to 420mm / 16.5''

• LFS has a 10t timber trailer and can collect timber in the Huntly area (ideally 2.5m lengths).
